Ampthill Town Council - Guidance/Criteria to Applicants for Grants

All applicants/applications for Grant Aid will be required to satisfy the following conditions:

1. Only Community groups and Voluntary organisations operating or based within Ampthill are eligible to make applications for small grants to fund projects that enable people to take part in art, sports, heritage and community activities, as well as projects that tackle environmental, educational, health and poverty issues in the local community.

2. Ampthill Town Council has limited funds but is keen to support a variety of projects in the area.  Therefore, the normal level of grants will be up to £500, however in exceptional circumstances grants above this level may be considered.

3. The applicant must be able to demonstrate local community need and support. Give as much detail as possible regarding the number of Ampthill households/residents that will benefit.

4. The application must demonstrate a clear financial need.

5. Retrospective grant applications cannot be considered.

6. No grants will be given to cover general running expenses.

7. The organisation submitting the application must be non – party political.

8. The attached application form should be completed and returned to Ampthill Town Council, Park Lodge, Ampthill Great Park, Ampthill, Bedford, MK45 2HX, or via email to council@ampthill-tc.gov.uk

9. Grants will be considered at each meeting of the Council’s Community Engagement Committee:

Grant applications must be received no later than 10 days prior the published meeting date to be considered.   All required accompanying information must be submitted with the completed grant application form.
